FAQ
At Maison M'Elise, we know dress shopping can seem overwhelming at first! To help you, we have answered some common questions. If you have any other queries please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to meeting you!
WHAT WILL MY APPOINTMENTS BE LIKE?

This unique process consists of approximately 4 to 5 fittings. Typically we start with a consultation discussing how you envision your dream dress to be, and afterward our designer will create drawings of your potential wedding gown and give price options for the different styles we offer. After that, there will be three fittings at different stages of the process. The first fitting is with a cotton sample piece of the garment (a toile) to make sure the pattern fits correctly and necessary adjustments are made. The second fitting entails you trying on your gown in the chosen fabrics and again adjustments for fit being made. Finally, two weeks before the wedding it’s time for your final fitting and adjustments. This is also the moment when you will bring your beautiful custom gown home! It is really a pleasure to guide you all along the way leading up to your big day.

WHO SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Bring the two or three people whose opinions you value most. When it comes to choosing a dress, you’ll want to bring guests who understand your true style, give supportive feedback, and will help you look your best. Hearing too many opinions can be overwhelming and it should be your time to shine and to stand in the spotlight.

WHAT UNDERGARMENTS SHOULD I BRING?

After you have decided on a wedding dress style, our designer will give you specialised advice on your undergarments. She may even order these especially for you. If you are in doubt, a convertible skin tone Wonderbra and seamless underwear are always a safe bet.
