Exhibition at The New Institute Museum Rotterdam
Maison M'Elise bridal and evening collection 'Blue Apples' has been exhibited at the 'New Institute Museum', Rotterdam, on 6th April, as part of Symposium Lot's of Lace Textile Commission in the Netherlands. The collection was accompanied by a creative short docu-film 'A Stitch In Time'.

Maison M'Elise bridal and evening collection 'Blue Apples' has been exhibited at the 'New Institute Museum', Rotterdam, on 6th April, as part of Symposium Lot's of Lace Textile Commission in the Netherlands. The collection was accompanied by a creative short docu-film 'A Stitch In Time' . Showing the making of the collection, augmented by a poetic voice-over and intriguing soundtrack, to convey the unique essence of lace as the mycelium of connective value - The case for lace as a slow fashion driver for a circular economy in a fast changing world.Â
Within this short documentary it's all about connectivity, whilst looking at the historic importance and rise in prominence, power and kudos lace achieved within Europe. The precedence it set as a store of value and it's propensity for connectivity as a powerful driver for cultural and economic cohesion and empowerment within the wider context of political, inter-cultural and inter-generational societal traditions and transformation giving sulutions on how we may realise the old ways may meet with our newly born interest with the Circular Economy of the textile industry.
